It was considered advisable to start on a smaller scale exhibiting
cage birds only. The feeling was that it might be possible to expand
to other sections if desired at a later date. The fanciers present said
they had the names of over 30 cage bird breeders in Kirkwall alone.
After discussion it was decided that an entirely new society should
be formed and a meeting was called for the 14th December to form an
Orkney Cage Bird Society.
